What day is it today?

Today, July 1st is “Iron Scrap Day”.
It was established in 1975 as a memorial day for the establishment of the Japan Iron Recycling Industry Association.
About 110 million tons of iron is produced in Japan in a year. Of that, 20 million tons are produced by recycling from iron scraps and the like.
In the production of iron, a large amount of fuel called coke is burned to produce it, and a large amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) is generated in this process.
A method of melting and refining scrap in an electric furnace … In other words, if it is recycled, the carbon dioxide can be reduced by as much as 70%.
Iron is a material that can be 100% recycled as many times as you like, and if you recycle it, you can reduce CO2 and it is kind to the earth.
Takabe Metals will actively recycle iron, which is a good thing.
